THERE’S a new name seen on the fairways of Malaysia’s golf courses these days – Carro.

The clothes brand is the brainchild of Caroline Wass, designer and founder of the active lifestyle apparel line.

Carro, also the nickname given to Wass by her late grandmother, was launched in 2017 primarily as a lifestyle range but had enjoyed an exceptionally good reception from golfers, hence the new golf line.

“Initially, the idea behind Carro was to be a vibrant lifestyle casualwear brand,” Wass told MetroSport in an interview.

“Surprisingly, we have had an amazing response from golfers and hence, sought to offer an exclusive line for them.

“We’ve also found they (the golfers) love the designs because they are bold, unique and colourful. Many have told us that they love the attention they get when they wear our polo shirts. They love to stand out and we understand that.”

Subsequent to that, Wass released a new range of polo shirts with golfers in mind.

“Based on feedback, we are now using a better fabric that is lightweight with a soft hand-feel and provides better breathability.

“This line has everything a golfer needs, especially in our climate,” she added.

Wass said the brand’s main focus was “active and fashionable people.

“It’s for those looking for exciting designs with a comfortable fit. It is foremost for men, aged between 20s and 60s, but surprisingly quite a number of women are interested.”

After completing her fashion studies, she spent 10 years-plus dressing up corporate companies and “that’s what really spurred me on to start up Carro,” she added.

Among the corporate giants that Wass said she designed for were Maybank, Starbucks Malaysia, Astrazeneca, Astro Arena and San Francisco Coffee.

Carro’s current collection is titled Believe.

“Why believe?

“Because if you start to believe then anything is possible. It’s about spreading positivity. But most important is to Believe in one’s self and be yourself.”

Wass designed the prints inspired by life, nature and her surroundings.

Besides polo shirts, Carro has a range of round-neck tees and singlets for gym-goers, sports enthusiasts and runners. The brand is available at Tiga Supply Co. (The Gasket Alley) in Section 13, Petaling Jaya.
