To ignite the excitement of teamwork, several different fitness equipment and stations at Cirque Studio will have clients working out with a partner or different groups of people.

AFTER receiving overwhelming response from their first fitness venture earlier this year, founders Mark Khoo and Christian Lee launched the brand-new Cirque Studio in Verve Shops, Mont Kiara.

Cirque Studio welcomes everyone to experience mind and body fitness through electrifying and upbeat programmes tailored to customers who are ready for an intense workout.

The boutique fitness gym incorporated a carnival-like experience with a popcorn machine, fortune wheel spinner to win prizes, hot air balloon decor and more for customers to enjoy every day.

According to Khoo, the inspiration behind the studio’s name came about from the similarities between a person’s life and the whirling circus world.

“Like life, circus has its ups and downs, stunts and stumbles. These elements factor in the makings of a star, which is what we want our clients to feel at the end of the session,” said the 27-year-old.

Addressing the studio’s direction, Lee said Cirque Studio complements their fitness venture Tribe Boxing Studio.

“Cirque Studio focuses more on high intensity circuit training while boxing is Tribe’s core.

“By having two different concepts, we are a part of everyone’s fitness journey,” said Lee.

Opened over three weeks ago, the 3,500sq ft fitness studio offers classes featuring a 50-minute full body workout incorporating elements of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), athletic modules and team-based functional activities.

Clients or “Cirque-troupes” can look forward to a range of fitness equipment and circuit stations that are closely supervised by experienced instructors within an atmosphere with electric beats coupled with colourful neon lights.

The several different stations will have fitness buffs working out with a partner or different groups of people to ignite the excitement of teamwork.

Each session is constructed around four fundamental pillars of fitness – strength, agility, endurance and power.

Fitness equipment here include rowers, assault bikes, resistance bands that can be used for more cardio-based work while some of the strengthening equipment offered are the kettlebells, slam balls, sleds and barbells.

A first trial combo is priced at RM60 for two classes, while subsequent classes will be priced between RM30 and RM60 based on the chosen packages.

A total of RM2,128 from the ticket proceeds of the launch was donated to Trap Neuter Release Malaysia (TNRM), a non-governmental organisation that helps to manage stray animals in Malaysia.

Cirque Studio is located at Level 1, Verve shops, Mont Kiara, 8, Jalan Kiara 5, Kuala Lumpur. For details, call 012-216 6309.
