Bitter Belgium look for solace against England

Mbappe (left) and Griezmann will be hoping to end the World Cup on a high.

Belgium’s golden generation of players containing skipper Eden Hazard, Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku were unable ti live up to their billing as pre-tournament favourites but will depart with their reputations intact after commendable showings.

After losing to France in the semifinals on Tuesday, Hazard and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois hit out at France’s “anti-football team” in a tightly-fought contest which was dominated by a solid defensive performance from Les Blues.
