CHINESE Recreation Club (CRC) regained the Penang Chinese FA Junior League title, beating Islanders FC 2-0 in the final at the Penang Sports Club.

Last year, they lost to Macallum SC after having won the three-month competition, better known as the Teoh Ah Lean Cup, for three consecutive seasons from 2014.

CRC team manager Khor Tai Mai attributed their success to the tireless work of his young players.

"They showed hunger to win in the final, even when they were down to just 10 players at the tail end of the game.

“We deserve to win the game," he said. The two teams had earlier drawn 1-1 in the group stage.

Islanders FC played well in the final but was let down by the poor finishing of its strike force.
