BOWLING enthusiasts can look forward to more prizes in the second edition of the MBPJ Mayor League Cup Bowling Tournament 2018 organised by Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).

MBPJ will offer close to RM100,000 in prizes for the second edition of the championship.

Run as a league format, the championship is expected to feature 28 teams and will be held at Wangsa Bowl in 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya, every Wednesday night starting from April 4.

Each team of eight bowlers will compete in 27 matches and the league is expected to end in early November.

The champions will bring home a RM10,000 cash prize and a trophy while the first runner-up will receive RM6,000 plus a trophy and the second runner-up will take home RM4,000 and a trophy.

All remaining teams will receive consolation prizes in the form of cash and vouchers.

Additionally, there are scores of prizes for team and individual categories such as weekly prizes and lucky draws where smartphones, hotel stays as well as a 40-inch LCD TV are up for grabs.

As with last year, a perfect game of 300 points will bring with it a brand-new Modenas MR2 motorcycle worth RM4,000.

“This event aims to create a platform in strengthening the relationships among different parties and organisations as well as raise health awareness among them.

“I hope every team will embrace the value of sports in team building and sportsmanship,” Petaling Jaya deputy mayor Johary Anuar said.

He also expressed his gratitude to the sponsors including Wangsa Bowl, 100 Plus, Hotel and Resort Palm Garden as well as Berjaya Mega Motors.

Participants can expect more exciting individual awards including the Exact Score award for those who can get the exact score of 251, 275 and 281.

Competition outcomes are judged in a Trio Tournament Format and three representatives from each team will be sent out to compete.
