Natasha and Co receive big buck$ for World Cup success from Hannah

PETALING JAYA: National bowler Natasha Roslan was the biggest winner under a special incentive for her exploit in the IBF World Cup.

She won RM25,000 in total for winning the singles gold and team silver at the at the world meet in Hong Kong recently.

Yesterday, the National Sports Council (NSC) announced special incentives totaling RM90,000 for Natasha and others in the team in recognition of their remarkable performances at the meet.

The team won a total of two gold and two silver medals in Kowloon.

The special incentive was given because World Cup was not listed by the Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) under the NSC reward scheme (Shakam).

They can only list one world event and thet have only listed the World Championships.

The 28-year-old Natasha received RM20,000 for clinching the individual gold from Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh in Putrajaya yesterday.

Natasha, who was the first woman to win the title in 53 years, was also given another RM5,000 for winning the team silver event.

The ministry gave a total of RM20,000 for the women's yeam, which were also shared by Sin Li Jane, Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman, and Gillian Lim.

Meanwhile, Rafiq Ismail, Ahmad Muaz Fishol, Tun Ameerul Hakim Tun Hasnul Azam, and Timmy Tan, who triumphed in the men’s team event, received RM40,000 collectively.

Rafiq also received another RM10,000 for winning the men’s individual silver.
