Kegler Li Jane shines in Singapore Open with stepladder win

PETALING JAYA: Singapore is indeed a happy hunting ground for top national woman bowler Sin Li Jane.

The 30-year-old was on a roll Saturday (June 10) when she blazed the lanes to emerge as the champion for the fourth time in the Singapore Open at the Singapore Bowling Rifle Range.

She rose to the occasion to beat homester Shirlene Wong Xue Lin 227-193, 195-178 in a sudden death play-off of the stepladder finals for the win.

Li Jane made the stepladder finals as the second qualifier with 1,748 pins.

She outplayed another Singaporean, Shayna Ng, 255-194 in the second match to set up a meeting with Shirlene in the final.

Li Jane also won the title in Singapore in 2010, 2013 and 2014.

Meanwhile, Timmy Tan was unable to make it a double joy when he lost 184-213 to Kim Bolleby of Sweden in the first match of the men's stepladder finals.
