Bowling: So close, yet so far as Malaysia settle for silver in world meet

PETALING JAYA: National keglers have agonisingly missed out on their bid to reclaim the women’s team gold at the World Championships after going down fighting to the United States in the best-of-two games final in Dubai.

The Malaysian quartet of Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman, Natasha Roslan, Nur Syazwani Sahar and Faten Najihah Ahmad Faik had won the opening game 190-170, but the star-studded American side that featured PWBA Tour stars Danielle McEwan, Kelly Kulick, Jordan Richard and Missy Parkin drew level by clinching the second game 215-171, triggering a ninth and 10th frames roll-off.
