Jimmy-Pei Jing battle into Indonesian Masters final

PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles pair Jimmy Wong-Lai Pei Jing lived up to expectations by reaching the Indonesian Masters final after overcoming Hong Kong’s Chan Yin Chak-Ng Tsz Yau 21-9, 14-21, 21-15 on Saturday (Sept 20).

The semi-final clash at the Youth Sports Arena in Pekanbaru, Riau saw fifth seeds Jimmy-Pei Jing facing the Hong Kong duo for the first time.

Jimmy-Pei Jing started strongly but had to dig deep after Yin Chak-Tsz Yau forced the match into a deciding rubber. The Malaysians eventually secured victory in 48 minutes to advance to the final.

They will face Denmark’s Mathias Christiansen-Alexandra Boje next.
