KUALA LUMPUR: Women’s doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah continued their fiery form by smashing into the Malaysian Masters semi-finals.

Pearly-Thinaah, who captured the Thailand Open title last week, needed only 34 minutes to oust Indonesia’s Febriana Kusuma-Amallia Cahaya 21-14, 21-14 at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on Friday (May 23) much to the delight of the passionate home fans.

The world No. 4 pair though have a tougher task on Saturday (May 24) when they face China’s Paris Olympics champion Jia Yifan and her new partner Zhang Shuxian for a place in the final.

Pearly-Thinaah lost to the Chinese duo in the Orleans Masters quarter-finals in March and will be out to avenge the defeat.
