Badminton: Aaron-Wooi Yik suffer shock first-round exit in Orleans Masters

PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles shuttlers Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik suffered a blow ahead of the All-England next week after crashing out of the Orleans Masters in the first round.World No. 5 Aaron-Wooi Yik, who were the second seeds in the tourney, surprisingly went down 18-21, 8-21 to Chinese newcomers Sun Wenjun-Zhu Yijun at the Palais des Sports in France on Wednesday (March 5).The defeat raises concerns that Aaron has not fully recovered from a right hand injury which could also affect his preparations for the All-England.The issue has been troubling the 28-year-old for some time and there were doubts about his participation in the Orleans tourney before he was eventually cleared to compete with Wooi Yik.Meanwhile, world No. 11 Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun's campaign also ended early after the duo lost out 16-21, 14-21 to in-form South Koreans Seo Seung-jae-Kim Won-ho.
