PETALING JAYA: Independent player Lee Zii Jia came from behind to outplay K. Srikanth of India to reach the second round of the Indonesian Masters in Jakarta on Wednesday (Jan 24).

Zii Jia, the world No. 10, secured a 19-21, 21-14, 21-11 win over No. 25 Srikanth in 54 minutes.

"It was a tough game and with the condition I was in, I’m quite satisfied with my performance," said Zii Jia.

"Our target is to qualify for the Olympics and everyone has their own pressure and we have to find our way to overcome that pressure."

Meanwhile, the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) shuttler Leong Jun Hao, ranked world No. 37, secured an upset 21-17, 21-17 win over world No. 11 Kenta Nishimoto of Japan in 46 minutes to storm into the second round.
