Zii Jia on lookout for full-time physiotherapist

PETALING JAYA: Shuttler Lee Zii Jia is on the lookout for a new permanent physiotherapist.

The experienced Sandra Fiedler, who has been part of Zii Jia’s team since the men’s singles shuttler left the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) to turn independent last year, will not be able to travel with Zii Jia and assist him during tournaments for now.

Team LZJ released the news via social media recently.

“Sandra Fiedler has been an integral part of Team LZJ since day one as the team’s physiotherapist,” read the statement.

“Her experience and contributions has been massive towards maintaining Zii Jia’s physical condition and all of his success.

“Due to the demands of hectic tournament schedule and family commitments, Sandra will not be able to travel with the team for the time being.”

Fiedler though will still be working with Zii Jia.

“She remains an integral part of this family and will be designated a new role as Team LZJ’s physiotherapy advisor.”

Fiedler had been former great Datuk Lee Chong Wei’s physiotherapist in BAM during the latter’s playing days.
