Xin Yee marches into fourth round in two events


PETALING JAYA: Shuttler Ong Xin Yee (pic) has kept her hopes of winning medals in the girls’ singles and doubles alive in the World Junior Championships by making it into the fourth round of both events.

Xin Yee eased past Sweden’s Elin Ohling 21-9, 21-12 in the singles before combining with Carmen Ting to claim a hard fought 16-21, 21-17, 21-13 win over China’s Jiang Peixi-Liao Lixi in the third round in Spokane, Washington, on Wednesday.
