Yew Sin-Ee Yi lose in semi-finals of Swiss Open

PETALING JAYA: Independent men's doubles pair Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi's run came to an end in the Swiss Open when they went down 19-21, 21-17, 17-21 to India's world No. 6 Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty in the semi-finals in Basel late on Saturday (March 25).

Despite the defeat in a closely-fought match, it was still world No. 8 Yew Sin-Ee Yi's best finish in a tournament so far this year.

Satwiksairaj-Chirag, who have reached their first final of the year, will take on China's world No. 21 Ren Xiangyu-Tan Qiang for the title.

The Chinese pair beat England's Ben Lane-Sean Vendy 21-10, 21-17 in the other last four matches.
