Soon Huat-Shevon finish as runners-up in Swiss Open

PETALING JAYA: Independent mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie finished as runners-up in the Swiss Open after going down fighting 17-21, 21-19, 17-21 to China's rising pair Jiang Zhenbang-Wei Yaxin in a thrilling final in Basel on Sunday (March 26).

It was heartbreak for world No. 11 Soon Huat-Shevon, who had also been denied the title last year by Germany's Mark Lamsfuss-Isabel Lohau.

The Malaysian pair can still hold their heads high as they were the best performers for the country in the tournament after all others had bowed out in the last four.

It was also Soon Huat-Shevon's best finish so far this year.
