Zii Jia storms into semi-finals of Swiss Open

PETALING JAYA: Independent men's singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia stormed into the semi-finals of the Swiss Open after sweeping aside Taiwan's Lee Chia-hao 21-12, 21-17 in Basel on Friday (March 24).

It was sweet revenge for world No. 4 Zii Jia, who had surprisingly lost to world No. 42 Chia-hao in the second round of the German Open in Mulheim, a fortnight ago.

Zii Jia will next play Japan's world No. 37 Koki Watanabe for a place in the finals.

Watanabe stunned Hong Kong's world No. 19 Lee Cheuk Yiu 21-12, 21-15 in another last eight tie.
