KLBA donate RM15,000 to B40 students under Projek Jejak Juara

PETALING JAYA: Three hundred students from the B40 group in SMK Kepong Baru have received RM15,000 from the Kuala Lumpur Badminton Association (KLBA).

The students were under KLBA’s long-term initiative called the Projek Jejak Juara, which was launched last August.

KLBA had collaborated with the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Education Department and Projek Jejak Juara’s strategic partner, the Rapera Foundation in this latest effort.

The project is a five-year plan targeted towards pupils from 10 onwards from 292 primary and secondary schools all around Kuala Lumpur.

The KLBA were formed in 1980 and have been an integral part in producing young talents for the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).

Successful products from the KLBA include current national singles coaching director Wong Choong Hann (pic), Datuk Rashid Sidek, reigning men’s doubles world champion Soh Wooi Yik and Tokyo Paralympics gold medallist Cheah Liek Hou.
