Chong Wei to be part of Technical Advisory Panel at ABM

PETALING JAYA: Former great Datuk Lee Chong Wei (pic) has agreed to be a part of a 14-member Technical Advisory Panel at Akademi Badminton Malaysia (ABM).

The other former players set to join Chong Wei are Roslin Hashim, Ong Ewe Hock, Koo Kien Keat, Tan Boon Heong, Datuk Seri Jalani Sidek and Datuk Cheah Soon Kit.

Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) president Tan Sri Norza Zakaria, Datuk Ahmad Shapawi Ismail, Ahmad Faedzal Ramli, Datuk Teoh Teng Chor, Datuk Ng Chin Chai, Datuk Kenny Goh and Datuk Dr Ramlan Aziz will complete the membership of the panel.

"The panel serving on a pro-bono basis, will provide additional input, advice and strategic guidance to the Board of Trustees and Management of ABM with the aim of enhancing player performances for the long-term strategic goal of podium performances at the Olympics, Multi-sport events and World Tour tournaments.

"Additionally, the panel will meet every quarterly to review players' and coaches' performances and where required propose changes in policies, training programs and tournament participation in the form of recommendation to the Board of Trustees.

"The panel's first meeting is expected to take place at the end of this month," said ABM in a statement.
