CHINA’S Ren Xiangyu-Tan Qiang’s attempt to gatecrash Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi’s party was stopped by the Malaysian independent pair in an exciting men’s doubles opening-round clash at the Axiata Arena.

Yew Sin-Ee Yi were heading for an impressive straight-game win while leading 19-17 in the second game but the rising Chinese pair came back strongly to force the decider before the Malaysians secured a 21-13, 20-22, 21-15 in 63 minutes.
