INDEPENDENT men’s singles shuttler Liew Daren could have played his last match at the Malaysian Open.

The 35-year-old Daren battled his way past world No. 23 Toma Junior of France 21-15, 14-21, 21-17 to reach the second round at Axiata Arena yesterday.
