PETALING JAYA: It's now Goh Liu Ying's turn to say good bye as she plans to end her career at the Malaysian Open next year.

She is the third shuttler after the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) mixed double player Peck Yen Wei to quit the national team in recent days while veteran Chan Peng Soon also gave a strong hint on retiring soon.

Liu Ying's most memorable moment of her career was winning the mixed doubles bronze medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics with Peng Soon.

The Malaysian Open will be held at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil from Jan 10-15.

"The Malaysian Open will be my last tournament if I qualify," confirmed the 33-year-old Liu Ying, who is now an independent player.

Liu Ying is currently ranked World No. 96 with Soong Joo Ven in the mixed doubles.
