Chun Sin in avenger’s mood as Shawn looms in final


Back to you: Kuala Lumpur’s Yap Chun Sin returning a shot to Selangor’s Au Wei Shan during the 100Plus Junior Elite Tour semi-final match at the Perak Badminton Academy in Ipoh yesterday.

PETALING JAYA: Kuala Lumpur’s Yap Chun Sin is plotting revenge against Selangor’s Shawn Hiu in the boys’ Under-16 final in the Perak leg of the 100Plus Junior Elite Tour today.

Chun Sin had lost to Shawn in the quarter finals of the inaugural round.

“I’ve been practising with hopes of reaching the final after losing to Shawn in the quarter finals of the previous leg,” said Chun Sin.

“This is a chance for me to avenge that painful defeat.”

In the semi-finals, Chun Sin defeated Selangor’s Au Wei Shan 21-14, 21-19 at the Perak Badminton Academy in Ipoh.

Shawn tamed KL’s Jayden Ng Yi Shen 21-18, 21-15.
