Safer route: Aaron and Wooi Yik are likely to evade the world’s top three pairs in the early rounds of the World Championships.

PETALING JAYA: Doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik have received a tremendous boost in their bid to be crowned the world champions for the first time.

The duo are expected to be seeded fourth in Huelva, Spain from Dec 12-19 which means they will avoid the world’s top three pairs – Indonesia’s Kevin Sanjaya-Marcus Fernaldi, Mohammad Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan and Taiwan’s Lee Yang-Wang Chi-lin – at least until the semi-finals.
