Zii Jia slogs to reach second round in Hylo Open

PETALING JAYA: After all the uncertainty over his participation, singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia went on to play in the Hylo Open but huffed and puffed to reach the second round.

On Wednesday, the second seed had to dig deep into reserve to beat old-timer Pablo Abian of Spain 21-11, 21-23, 22-24 in a 54-minute opening round match in Saarbrucken.
