PETALING JAYA: Mixed pair Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying’s hopes of salvaging a respectable result in their last European outing have gone up in smoke.

The world No. 8 failed to live up to their status as the fourth seeds at the Hylo Open after going down 20-22, 21-15, 16-21 to Denmark’s world No. 43 Mikkel Mikkelsen-Rikke Soby in Saarbrucken, Germany yesterday.
