PETALING JAYA: The new season of the World Tour is set for a return next March, but world No. 90 singles shuttler Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin (pic) isn’t jumping for joy.
The 30-year-old believes he’s one of the many lowly ranked players who will be affected by lack of playing opportunities – no thanks to the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) new decision to scrap the qualifying tournament.
Iskandar lamented that it would be tough to get into the third and fourth tier World Tour events without the qualifying rounds.
