PETALING JAYA: The World Tour title continues to elude national men's doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik.
The world No. 8 ended their Spain Masters outing in semi-finals on Saturday (Feb 22), losing 16-21,22-24 to Denmark's Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen.
Aaron-Wooi Yik failed to capitalise two game points in hand at 20-19 and 21-20 as they fell to their second defeat in six meetings to the world No. 14 Danes.
Aaron-Wooi Yik have yet to taste success on the World Tour since they started their partnership in late 2017.
Their best achievements so far were coming in as runners-up at the SaarLorLux Open in 2018 and All-England last year.
In the men's singles, Liew Daren too failed to advance to the final.
Top seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark was just too hot for the 32-year-old to handle as he went down 10-21,19-21.
Following Daren and Aaron-Wooi Yik's exit, Malaysia's challenge in Barcelona has come to an end.
They will be taking a week break before heading to Mulheim for the German Open from March 3-8.
