Men’s pair end title drought to win maiden title


AFTER coming up short in five finals, men’s doubles badminton pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik could not be denied any more.The world No. 12 finally claimed the maiden title of their two-year partnership by coming back from a game down to beat Thailand’s Maneepong Jongjit-Bodin Issara 8-21,21-15,21-16 to end Malaysia’s 16-year title drought in the event.

The last pair to have tasted SEA Games success were Choong Tan Fook-Lee Wan Wah in Hanoi 2003.
