PETALING JAYA: National men’s singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia pulled off a stunner in the Indonesian Open when he upset his idol Chen Long in only his first meeting against the top player from China.

The 21-year-old played the best badminton of his career when he stood solid to beat reigning Olympic and two-time world champion Chen Long 21-16, 19-21, 22-20 in a thrilling second-round battle that took 88 minutes at Istora Senayan in Jakarta yesterday.
