PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles pairs Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying and Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie entered the World Tour Finals in Guangzhou with plenty to prove – but flopped.

Both pairs have been struggling to impress of late and the lucrative US$1.5mil (RM6.28mil) season-ending tournament, which featured only the top-performing players of the season, was an ideal platform for them to silence their critics.
