ODENSE: Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie lifted the sombre mood in the mixed doubles team by reaching the second round of the Danisa Denmark Open.

The world No. 9 defeated Mikkel Mikkelsen-Mai Surrow of Denmark 21-19, 19-21, 21-11 in a 54-minute first-round match at the Odense Sports Centre yesterday.
