PETALING JAYA: National doubles shuttlers Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi served up the only cheer for Malaysia on the opening day of the China Open in Changzhou.

The world No. 20 Yew Sin-Ee Yi took only 37 minutes to beat Gold Coast Commonwealth Games gold medal winners Marcus Ellis-Chris Langridge of England in the first round yesterday to set up a meeting against second seeds Li Junhui-Liu Yuchen of China next.
