JAPAN have confirmed their status as the superpower in the women’s badminton in the world by capturing their first team gold at the Asian Games in 48 years.
Japan, the Uber Cup winners in May, came back from behind to beat China 3-1 with reigning Olympic champions Misaki Matsutomo-Ayaka Takahashi delivering the victory point with a 21-16, 21-11 win over Huang Dongping-Zheng Yu at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno yesterday.
