NANJING: Former international Liew Daren showed he was no pushover when he stunned 13th seed Jonatan Christie of Indonesia 21-12, 21-16 in the men’s singles first round of the World Championships on Tuesday.
The world No. 38 Daren is Malaysia’s sole representative in the men’s singles competition following the withdrawal of Lee Chong Wei, who has been ruled out with illness.
