PETALING JAYA: The recent success of the national mixed doubles shuttlers have sparked hope for Malaysia to end their 12-year wait for a medal in the event at the World Cham­pionships in Nanjing from July 30-Aug 5.

Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie have won the just-concluded Singa­pore Open on Sunday while Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying finished runners-up at the Indonesian Open two weeks ago.
