Malaysian men’s pair falter in final

PETALING JAYA: National men’s doubles shuttlers Tan Wee Gieen-Shia Chun Kang failed to win their first international title at Orleans Masters.

The world No. 71’s gallant run came to an end when they lost 10-21, 18-21 to third seeds Mark Lamsfuss-Marvin Emil Seidel of Germany in the men’s doubles final in France on Sunday.

It’s their second runner-up finish since they teamed up last year. They also lost in the final of the Malaysian International Challenge final in November.

Women’s singles: Shiori Sato (Jpn) bt Mia Blichfeldt (Den) 21-18, 21-14.
Women’s doubles: Gabriela Stoeva-Stevani Stoeva (Bul) bt Delphine Delrue-Lea Palermo (Fra) 21-8, 21-14.
Mixed doubles: Niclas Nohr-Sara Thygesen (Den) bt Peter Kaesbaur-Olga Konon (Ger) 21-19, 21-9.
