PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie continued their superb form when they reached the final of the German Open in Mulheim.
The third seeds Soon Huat-Shevon battled for one hour and 18 minutes to beat Choi Solgyu-Chae Yoo-jung of South Korea 23-21, 23-25, 21-13 in the semi-finals on Saturday (March 10).
They will take on Niclas Nohr-Sara Thygesen of Denmark, who stunned He Jiting-Du Yue of China 21-19, 19-21, 21-17 in another semi-final match.
"The Korean pair came prepared this time and gave us a tough time," said Shevon.
The Malaysians had beaten the Koreans at the Indonesian Masters last month.
"Soon Huat and I communicated well and supported each other to pull though with a win," added Shevon, who promised to go all out in the final.
But it was all over for Malaysia in the men's doubles when Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong went down fighting 21-17, 18-21, 21-19 to Takuto Inoue-Yuki Kaneko of Japan in the semi-finals.
