ALOR SETAR: Malaysia's hopes for a strong start at the Asia Team Badminton Championships were dashed after they crashed to a 2-3 defeat to Thailand.

The doubles pairs of Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong and Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi flopped as both pairings lost their matches at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium here on Tuesday.
