PETALING JAYA: The young – Soong Joo Ven – and the old – Chong Wei Feng – saved the day for Malaysian badminton in the opening day of the men’s singles event at the Korea Masters.
The 22-year-old Joo Ven defeated Milan Ludik of the Czech Republic 21-13, 21-13 in the first round at the Yeomju Gymnasium in Gwangju City yesterday. World No. 61 Joo Ven will face qualifier Ko Gyung-bo of South Korea next.
