PETALING JAYA: Shuttlers Tan Wee Kiong-Ong Yew Sin are through to the men’s doubles quarter-finals of the Hong Kong Open.

Wee Kiong-Yew Sin defeated Hendra Setiawan-Tan Boon Heong 17-21, 22-20, 21-12 in a 51-minute second round match at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Kowloon on Thursday.

The pair will take on top seeds Marcus Fernaldi Gideon-Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo of Indonesia on Friday (Nov 24).

The Indonesian hotshots defeated Takuro Hoki-Yugo Kobayashi of Japan 18-21, 21-13, 21-14.

Meanwhile, the challenge of former international Lim Khim Wah ended in the second round.

Khim Wah and his Korean partner Yoo Yeon-seong went down fighting 20-22, 21-18, 19-21 to Li Junhui-Liu Yuchen of China in a 57-minute match.
