PETALING JAYA: Malaysian youngster Goh Jin Wei came up short in her bid for a first title this year.
The 17-year-old former world junior champion went down 17-21, 17-21 to Japan's Saena Kawakami in the Taiwan Open finals on Sunday.
The world No. 44 committed too many unforced errors in the first game.
She was unlucky to throw a 10-6 lead in the second game as world No. 59 Kawakami clinched her first GP Gold title at the Taipei Arena.
