In only their first tournament as a pair, Peng Soon guided 21-year-old Peck Yen Wei to reach the Indonesian Open semi-finals with a fantastic 58-minute 19-21, 21-13, 21-13 win over Lu Ching-yao-Chiang Kai-hsin of Taiwan in Jakarta.
