KUCHING: Former international Liew Daren took a dig at Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) player Soo Teck Zhi after checking into men’s singles main draw at the Malaysian Open.

Yesterday, Daren blew away 2013 Asian junior champion Soo Teck Zhi 21-15, 21-10 in the first round of the qualifying tournament at Stadium Perpaduan in Petra Jaya. He then powered past 21-year-old Zhao Junpeng of China with a 17-21, 21-15, 21-18 win to earn the right to play Olympic bronze medallist Viktor Axelsen of Denmark today.
