KUALA LUMPUR: There is a good chance that Malaysian Masters champions Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing (pic) can become the national No. 1 mixed doubles pair if they continue their fine run at the ongoing German Open.

The world No. 9 are just one rung lower than seniors and Olympic silver medallists Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying in the world ranking. The current national No. 1 have dropped five rungs to world No. 8 since last November.
