Peng Soon and new partner steer Muar to victory


PETALING JAYA: Malaysian Chan Peng Soon made a successful debut with Lee Hyo-jung of South Korea to steer Muar Badminton Club to victory in the SS Purple League.

Peng Soon, a silver medallist at last year’s Rio de Janeiro Olympics, and 2008 Beijing Olympic champion Hyo-jung combined superbly in the mixed doubles to beat Klang City Badminton Club’s Chin Kah Mun-Hoo Pang Ron 11-8, 11-3, 11-10 in just 18 minutes at the Kuala Lumpur Badminton Stadium in Cheras yesterday.
