KUALA LUMPUR: The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) sprang a surprise when they omitted the country’s third-ranked singles shuttler Zulfadli Zulkiffli for next month’s Thomas Cup Finals.

Instead, they named the fourth-ranked singles shuttler Chong Wei Feng in the squad for the Finals to be held in Kunshan, China, from May 15-22.
