Shuttlers Prannoy, Bingjiao win big in Basel

PETALING JAYA: India’s H.S. Prannoy lifted his second Grand Prix Gold title at the Swiss Open after beating German Marc Zwiebler.

Prannoy was just too good for seventh seed Zwiebler, winning  21-18, 21-15 in 45 minutes in the men’s singles final on Sunday to join compatriots K. Srikanth and Saina Nehwal as winners of the tournament. Srikanth won the men’s singles crown last year while Saina was the women’s singles champion in 2011 and 2012.
