KUALA LUMPUR: Reigning world champion Carolina Marin should buy Saina Nehwal of India a Christmas present for keeping her challenge alive in the US$1mil (RM4.2mil) BWF World Superseries Finals.

Spaniard Marin, who was named the women’s Player of the Year by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) on Tuesday, was on the brink of elimination after losing two Group A matches against Saina and Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
