KUALA LUMPUR: About RM100,000 and some valuable Olympic ranking points have gone down the drain with the quarter-final exit of mixed doubles Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying in the US Grand Prix badminton tournament.

Malaysians Peng Soon-Liu Ying, the second seeds, lost 19-21, 17-21 to eighth seeds Choi Solgyu-Eom Hye-won of South Korea in a 40-minute clash at the Orange County Badminton Club in California on Thursday.
